October's Perth Events
There are a couple of events coming up in October… I’m looking forward to them and so should you!
Perth has two major events happening in October, that being the Waroona Country Show and Perth Tech. I’ll be at Waroona with PARG (Peel Amateur Radio Group) which is “hobby group whose aim is to bring amateur radio and electronic enthusiasts together, here in Western Australia.”, they are an awesome group of HAMs and will be showing off PARG 1. PARG 1 is a mobile communications trailer with a 30ft mast decked out for HF, VHF, and UHF. The trailer aims to provide all round weather emergency communications capability.
Waroona Country Show
Waroona Country Show is a one day event held at Waroona Recreation and Aquatic Centre, on the 7th of October 2023 and runs from 9am – 6pm. They proclaim to be “WA’s Friendliest Show” and offer a wide range of entertainment from log chopping, home produce, cooking, arts & craft, to farm machinery, food tasting and trade stalls. I should also mention there will be live music… something I’ve missed dearly since moving West.
Information can be found on their website. I hope to see you there!
Perth Tech
I’m not too sure what to expect from Perth Tech to be honest. They state we should expect; Another full programme of quality technical presentations on Saturday, Caravans and Campers can park onsite Friday and Saturday nights, a Friday night programme, a Saturday Night Sundowner and a Sunday workshops/demonstrations subject to being offered. The programme itself hasn’t been released yet but I can guarantee that it will have some quality technical training and presentations.
They’re on the last weekend in October, 27th – 29th of October 2023, and more information can be found here. See you there!
